At innovate Health our Comprehensive Health Assessments are recommended for all patients above the age of 45.

Travel Medicine / Immunisations

At innovate Health our doctors can provide up-to-date and comprehensive travel health advice to assist you in preparing for overseas travel. In addition to medication requirements, we offer a full range of travel vaccinations, including yellow fever vaccination. We recommend booking an appointment 6-8 weeks before your departure for a comprehensive assessment of your travel Medicine & Immunisation needs based on your destination. Remember, some vaccines require multiple doses and/or take weeks to become effective. Patient are asked to bring any prior immunisation records to your assessment appointment.

Mental Health

Talking to your General Practitioner about any signs and symptoms of depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, or substance abuse is an excellent first step to getting the treatment you need. Our General Practitioners have specialised training to diagnose mental health conditions, and if necessary, prescribe medication or refer you to any relevant specialists.

Sexual Health Consultation

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are passed on through unsafe sexual practices. Their occurrence has been on the rise in Australia over the past few decades. Many STIs show no symptoms, yet if left untreated, they can have serious long-term health consequences.

At innovate Health, we offer sexual health check-ups for men and women. The tests are usually simple, quick, and painless. Our doctors recommend getting tested for STIs before you start having sex with a new partner or before you stop using protection. All consultations at our practice are completely confidential. We will never disclose the fact that you had a sexual health consultation or what was discussed during the appointment with others without your permission.

We are happy to announce that we are teaming up with Wodonga Podiatry to bring Albury Podiatry located in the innovate Health Practice.

Albury Podiatry is committed to providing a high quality service to clients in the community with a range of lower limb complaints. We treat a wide variety of conditions and hold a strong interest in managing the High Risk Foot with staff having undertaken post-graduate studies in Wound Management and Diabetes Education and Management.

We have a strong commitment to ongoing Professional Education with recent attendance to the Lower Extremity Amputation Prevention conference. We have also attended Tendon Rehabilitation and Paediatric courses of late to mention a few.

Medical Abortion

Medical Abortion or Medical Termination of Pregnancy

Flu Vaccinations

What is Influenza?
Influenza, or as most of us call it, the flu; infects your respiratory system such as the nose, throat and lungs. The flu mainly spreads by coughing, sneezing, talking, and by touching a person’s hands, surface or object. It can cause mild to severe illness, causing complications such as pneumonia and bronchitis, leading to death.

Are you eligible for a free flu vaccine?
Currently, annual influenza vaccination is provided free through the National Immunisation Program (NIP) to groups who are at an increased risk of influenza complications.
This includes:

  • People aged 65 years and over
  • Pregnant women
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 15 years and over
  • Anyone aged 6 months and over who has a chronic condition placing them at increased risk of complications from influenza

If you are not eligible for a free flu vaccine, it is available for $20 per dose. Simply speak to our receptionist through our webchat or book a consultation and flu shot.

Things you might not know;

  • There is no live virus in the flu shot
  • The composition of the vaccine changes every year to combat the most common strains of influenza
  • The flu shot is safe for pregnant women at all stages of their pregnancy.
  • Children can begin to be immunised against the flu from six months of age.

Skin and Mole Checks

innovate Health offers skin checks which includes advanced mole mapping and full body skin checks through the use of the latest technology, Dermengine program analytics. This effective screening tool assists with early detection of skin cancer and analysis of skin moles.  

With two in every three Australians diagnosed with skin cancer before they are 70, it’s important to have regular skin checks to ensure early detection of cancer or pre-cancerous lesions.

Iron infusions

If you’re anaemic (a condition caused by a lack of haemoglobin/red blood cells in the blood) or have trouble tolerating iron supplements, you could benefit from an iron infusion. Iron is an essential mineral assisting the body to carry oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body, amongst other  important functions.

An iron deficiency is often treatable with simple dietary changes or with the addition of a daily supplement. In some cases though, an iron infusion might be recommended by your GP to give you a faster, more immediate result.

An iron infusion delivers iron directly into the bloodstream through a vein. The procedure itself takes 45- minutes  and is run by our doctors and nursing team, with the ease of booking in at a clinic.

Patients are required to see their doctor first for an appointment in order to assess most recent blood test results and prescribe the iron required in order for them to bring with them on the day of the iron infusion. Your doctor will also discuss the risks, benefits and possible side effects to having an iron infusion.

COVID Vaccinations

Innovate Health is pleased to announce that we have been approved to participate in the roll-out of the national COVID-19 vaccine, and we are proud to join the force to fight against COVID-19.

The COVID 19 Vaccine is provided and administered at no cost to all eligible Medicare Card holders. At innovate Health we are accepting all patients, regardless if you have been seen before at our practice.

Currently we have been allocated the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The COVID-19 vaccination consists of 2 vaccine doses administered 6-12 weeks apart. The COVID and flu vaccine should not be administered within two weeks of each other.

In order to book in for your COVID-19 vaccination, please book online through our online booking tool as you will be required to fill in a consent form on line.
